Join us for a MASSIVE day of Pride Round celebrations. It begins with some of our teams playing at home. We will also have a Pride Bake Sale! After a full day of footy and fantastic sweets, join us for our Balls & All: Pride Bingo Night. Saturday, June 28th 2025 - Bus Trip to Bomo and 2000s themed iPod Shuffle!

We have another massive day planned as 3 of our teams head down to take on the Bomaderry Tigers. We will have a bus taking players and others down to Artie Smith Oval. The Wollongong Bulldogs Australian Football Club was born in 2008 off the hard work and dedication of the founding “Dog Father”, Lee Murray. The ‘Doggies’ find their home at Keira Oval Oval in Wollongong and are predominately based in and around the University of Wollongong. The club’s close proximity to the University means that many of our players are students who migrate to Wollongong from all over Australia and, thus, find a home away from home in the club. This is the core of the Doggies culture: a club where all people - no matter their background, beliefs or story - are welcome to play some good football and find enduring support in a second family.

Round 7 results gave us wins all around. Our women's squad enjoyed their intraclub match while we had two official wins from our Women's Prems and Men's Ressies teams.

Round 5 results from the weekend's games. It was not our day, with only 1 win out of 4 games against a consistently strong club.

Congrats to our Women's Reserve Grade for a convincing win against Figtree and getting the win for Lads' 50th game! Both men's teams had a tough day against the prime Figgy lads. While our Women's Prems went down by a single point, showcasing an absolute battle of the top two teams in the division.

We head into round 6 this weekend against the Lions at Dalton with some late games under the lights. First game will be starting at 12:30pm, so enjoy the sleep in Doggies!

50 Club Games - Liv Adams

Congratulations to Olivia “Lads” Adams on her 50th game for the club tomorrow!

In 2019 Olivia Adams joined the women’s footy club, tomorrow we celebrate the phenomenon that is ‘Lads’ in her 50th game. Despite 7 years of on-field achievements and an instrumental contribution to the 2019 premiership it is her stoic character and humble attitude that deserve the greatest recognition.
Lads is a coach’s dream, give her any position or any instruction and you’ll only ever get one response: “Yep” and a nod. As it turns out this “Yep” and nod combo extends to the rest of her Saturday. Turn up early to set up, run water, cook snags, clean up,12 schooeys at TC, 100 mates to her uncle’s place for kick-ons, pack of darts, 4 tours of the house with one eye open, lead the charge into Sunday afternoon. “Yep,” nod.
It’s hard to overstate the impact that people like Lads have on our club. It’s not just that she pulls on the boots and helps out where she can. She genuinely makes footy a more enjoyable place to be. Her humility and respect for others is unrivalled and has lead to a well-earned place in our leadership team.

On behalf of everyone at the club, it’s been an absolute pleasure Lads. Can’t wait to see you in your prime tomorrow, on the best day of the week.

There will be 4 big games played with the South Coast women's and men's teams playing at 11am and 12:50pm, respectively. Congratulations to our Bulldogs players selected to play in the upcoming NSW/ACT Rep Games. The AFL South Coast squads will take on the AFL Hunter Central Coast squads this Saturday at Blacktown International Sports Park.

With our women's head coach, Allie Phillips, being the co-coach for the rep squad again this year, we hope the girls can keep their winning streak against the Hunter.

We would also like to congratulate Jimmy Phillips, a member of our 2024 Prems Men's Premiership team, selected in the men's South Coast squad. As well as previous Bulldog, Michelle "Fosco" Foscarini, who was selected for the women's AFL Sydney team.

An almost clean sweep for the round as we moved to Bonaira and North Dalton Park due to Keira being closed.

We retained the Paul Doherty Cup, winning 2/3 games against Kiama. There was a great display of exceptional footy from all of our teams. While our men's prems had a slow start, they could not quite get over the line in time.

Nevertheless, we continue to rebuild and improve as we head into Round 4 this week. All 4 divisions will be playing against Figgy at Figtree Oval so get down and support the Doggies for a big day!

Congratulations to Hock on his 50th game for the club tomorrow! Hock joined the Doggies in 2021 and has been a key player ever since. Hock played 17 games in 2023 and 13 in 2024, which undoubtedly made a significant impact and helped him rack up the 50 games!

We are proud to announce our 2025 Women’s Leadership Group!

This group of ladies will go above and beyond for the team, usually putting their bodies on the line and fighting for the footy. We are very lucky to have such amazing and talented women lead the women’s squad.

Izzy steps into the captain role after being our 2024 Vice Captain and involved in previous leadership groups. A powerhouse on the field, she brings a positive mindset and motivation to the team.

Georgie steps into the role of Vice Captain after also being consistently stepping up and being a leader for all in previous leadership groups. Her defensive pressure and skill is an asset on the field to inspire and lead the girls. We also love it when she barks at the opposition to distract them👀

The rest of our leadership groups brings some new faces and fresh ideas. These ladies will step up when we need them. Often putting others first, these ladies support the other girls with new skills, friendships, motivation and passion for footy.

These ladies should be proud of their achievement and to lead our women’s players in both divisions. We can’t wait to see what they bring in 2025!

After founding the Doggies in 2008, the ‘Dog Father’, Mr Lee Murray is set to coach his 350th game tomorrow. “I can’t believe how much has happened and how much we have grown… feels like yesterday this all started”.

Having played AFL since the early 1990’s, Lee always had a passion for footy. He built the club from the ground up, putting his own time, money and resources into establishing the inaugural Doggies team. He purchased the jumpers, shorts and socks himself and took on the role of coach, captain and major sponsor. A diehard Western Bulldogs AFL fan, Lee’s inspiration for the club colours (and name) came from this inner-west Melbourne club.

A tribute to the drive, commitment and time given by the founding Doggies members, the inaugural men’s side won their first premiership in 2008 - the same year that the club began. This success only continued, ingraining the fundamental values of hard-work, sportsmanship and commitment into the club DNA.

350 games of coaching later, his legacy stretches far beyond the wins and the stats. 350 games is an incredible achievement, but the impact he’s had on the people around him is what truly sets him apart. We, at the Wollongong Bulldogs, are forever grateful for the home and legacy he has built for every Doggies player, especially those who needed a home away from home. Although, his coaching doesn’t stop at the club, he puts just as much passion into his boxing life at Title Shot with many strong friendships formed through Title Shot. Nevertheless, he’s built a culture where people matter, where the club comes first, and where everyone feels like they belong. That selfless, others-first mentality has been at the core of everything he’s done. From stepping back to give others a go, to leading from the front when it mattered most. He’s never chased recognition, but we must stop now to recognise just how much he’s given to all of us.

What an absolutely incredible achievement for a man who’s not just a coach but a mentor, a friend, a family man and one of the most loyal, genuine humans to exist in this world.

Lappo is a versatile and dynamic AFL player known for his efficiency in moving the ball and making smart decisions under pressure. His ability to adapt to different roles on the field makes him a key player for his team. He consistently influences the game with precise disposals and strategic plays. Lappo's undeniable impact makes him a crucial asset in high-stakes moments.

Gus is a commanding force on the field, making a big impact in the ruck with his strength and dominance. His towering presence in defence makes him a formidable opponent, consistently outmuscling rivals in contests and providing crucial intercept marks. With his ability to control stoppages and dictate play, Gus gives his team a significant advantage both in the air and around the ground.

Cooke is a crucial link-up player through the middle, seamlessly connecting defence and attack with his smart ball movement and vision. His consistent efforts make him a reliable presence on the field, always working hard to create opportunities and maintain forward momentum. Cooke's ability to read the game and execute under pressure ensures his team stays in control, making him an integral part of their success.

Doigy is a dependable and consistent player, known for his strong link-ups through the middle and his ability to transition play smoothly. Burnsy’s presence in defence is invaluable, giving his team a dependable foundation to build from.

His ability to win the hardball and beat multiple opponents in a contest showcases his strength and determination. A relentless competitor with a never-give-up attitude, he is a game-changer who impacts every match.

Nandos is a dedicated and versatile AFL player whose team-first mentality makes him an invaluable asset on the field. His commitment to every contest is evident in his ability to adapt to different roles, always putting the needs of the team above all else. A standout intercept mark taker, Nick reads the play exceptionally well, cutting off opposition attacks and turning defence into offence, making a strong impact in every game he plays.

Hunter is a dominant ruckman whose presence around the contest gives his team a major advantage. His ability to win hit-outs and secure clearances ensures strong forward entries, creating key scoring opportunities. His smart field link-ups make him a crucial playmaker. With his strength, skill, and game awareness, Hunter consistently impacts every match, providing his team with momentum and control.

D-Train is a dominant force on the field, excelling as both a powerful midfielder and a key forward. His versatility allows him to control the game from the midfield, winning crucial possessions and driving the ball forward with precision. Whether impacting contests in the middle or leading the attack, D-Train's ability to adapt and perform makes him an invaluable player for his team.

Knoxy is a rock-solid defender whose great defensive pressure and backline control make him a crucial asset to his team. His ability to read the play and shut down opposition attacks ensures that his team remains steady under pressure. His leadership and composure in the backline provide stability, making him a key pillar in his team's defensive structure.

The Doggies can proudly announce our 2025 Men's Coaches.
We are excited to introduce familiar faces to the coaching team who bring fresh perspectives, energy, and a shared passion for the club’s success.

Lee Murray will be the Head Coach for the men’s squad in 2025. As the founder and "Dogfather" of the club, Lee has been a cornerstone of the Doggies’ success since day one. With 17 years of experience at the helm, he brings a wealth of football knowledge, having navigated the club through both triumphs and challenges. With a clear vision for the season ahead and a commitment to continued improvement, Lee is determined to lead the Doggies to new heights, ensuring the club remains competitive and united both on and off the field.

Cameron "Bails" Bailey, a recently inducted Life Member of the club, has rejoined the coaching team this year. Bails is undoubtedly one of the most selfless and club-oriented people. A few seasons ago, he decided to step down from playing to "give others a run," which perfectly encapsulates the "others-first" mentality. We’re excited to have him continue to share his wisdom with the team and set a standard of leadership that will continue to inspire those around him.

Cam Linsell is relatively new to the coaching assistant role. Since joining the Doggies in 2022, Cam has remained a strong supporter of the club. Hailing from a small country town with a strong AFL background, we hope that his wealth of footy knowledge will provide valuable insights, inspire our players, and help maintain our positive culture both on and off the field. His dedication and experience will undoubtedly play a key role in the growth of our players and the overall success of the team.

Lui Bishop-Marzotto returns to the coaching team after taking a break to spend more time with family. Her leadership and expertise have been invaluable as Lui led the Men’s Div 2 to premierships in 2022 and 2023. With experience playing for several competitive teams across the AFL Canberra, AFL Sydney and Representative competitions, she brings a wealth of football knowledge to the table. We’re more than thrilled to have her back on the coaching staff.

Izzy is a standout AFL player whose leadership and teamwork set her apart on the field. A true team player, she leads by example with her precision and ability to execute roles seamlessly, ensuring her impact is felt in every game. Her on-ball presence is powerful, consistently driving momentum and lifting those around her. Recognised for her dedication and influence, Izzy was awarded our Prems Division Coaches Award, a testament to her impressive performances and unwavering commitment to her team’s success.

Abbey is a consistent and reliable forward whose sharp skills and composure make her a key player on the field. A clean mark-taker with a natural ability to read the play, she capitalises on every opportunity to hit the scoreboard. Her talent and dedication were evident as she claimed the title of our Prems Women's Leading Goal Kicker, showcasing her accuracy and impact in front of goal.

Beth is a powerhouse AFL player who contests everything and dominates the forward line with her strength and skill. A major threat to any opposition, she consistently creates scoring opportunities and applies relentless pressure inside 50. Beth’s outstanding performances throughout the season earned her a well-deserved spot in the 2024 Women’s SCAFL Team of the Year, highlighting her impact and excellence on the field.

Eliza is a fierce and determined AFL player whose attacking mindset and relentless tackling pressure make her a force to be reckoned with on the ball. She consistently drives the play forward, applying intense pressure on the opposition and creating opportunities for her team. Her dedication and growth throughout the season were recognised with our Women’s Most Improved award, a testament to her hard work, resilience, and ever-evolving skill set.

The 2025 season is shaping up to be an incredible year for the Doggies and we can't wait to see what these players achieve this season!
